A clear RFQ helps the supplier review feasibility, suggest material and finish direction, understand sample needs and avoid slow back-and-forth before quotation.
Start with the hardware type and application, such as buckle, snap hook, eyelet, metal button, rivet, cord lock or custom logo plate. Add size details, strap width or fabric thickness when relevant, then share material and surface finish direction. If the project needs a logo, new shape or special function, include artwork, drawings, reference photos or physical sample notes so mold and sample requirements can be reviewed. Quantity, packing, target market, testing requirement and delivery expectation should be visible, but final price, lead time and document scope should be confirmed only after the product structure and order requirements are reviewed.
Use this checklist before sending a request for quotation, custom project inquiry or sample request so the first supplier review can focus on real feasibility instead of missing basic details.
